SIT AND WAIT.

Welcome to the ‘Sit and Wait’ gallery. AKA my flat.

Sit and Wait

Inspired by the Taoist concept of WU WEI – the act non-doing or striving for non-striving. The internet describes it as… ‘the cultivation of a state of being in which our actions are quite effortlessly in alignment with the ebb and flow of the elemental cycles of the natural world.’

Basically ‘Doing nothing is doing something.’

I’m still attempting to understand it all a bit more through the scribbles in my sketchbook.

Poems that I wrote

I’ve been busy working on my new little picture book – a collection of short poems that i’ve been scribbling and writing and re-writing overt the last couple of years (some actually date back over five years which is bonkers).

I’ve always wanted to do a little anthology ever since I read the Tim Burton book The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories .

AND I recently re-discovered an amazing book from my childhood when I was back at home called ’Theres an awful lot of weirdos in our neighbourhood.’ by Colin McNaughton. It’s described as ’A book of rather silly verse and pictures.’ which I really love. I remember loving it back then so maybe the idea has been floating around in my head for longer than I thought…

Anyways, below are some of my work-in-progress illustrations.

Postcards and prints

I don’t actively sell my artwork anymore but things like the bits below are still knocking around so if you are interested, drop me. aline. It’s still super lovely to send my doodles out there into the world and onto people’s walls or desks or fridge doors...

TTTCFT BOOK REVIEWS

So far i’ve had two ‘lovely’ book reviews (see below).

I’d like to have some more please. So if you’ve bought the book, read the book, seen the book, smelt the book, or just lightly grazed past it – lemme know what ya reckon.

If you haven’t done any of the above, you can buy a copy here and I’ll hand sign it for ya. Cheers!
